Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 says faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Nick Cocalis has always heard this verse and thought “sure, that’s easy to say” but he didn’t think he ever really understood what it meant to actually BELIEVE in something that you could not see. That is until he was on a plane ride and due to bad weather his plane had to make a landing with next to no visibility at all. Nick could feel the plane getting lower and lower to the landing strip…still nothing but clouds out the window. By this time the passenger sitting next to him was noticing the density of clouds and was looking across my lap out the window as well. Just as Nick felt that the plane couldn’t get any lower, an instant before we landed, he made eye contact with the passenger next to him. He was calm as he smirked and said “it’ll be there, always is.” And he was right! Nick didn’t have a doubt in his mind that they weren’t going to land on solid ground. It didn’t surprise him one bit a second later when their wheels touched down on the runway and the plane started braking to a halt. Even though Nick couldn’t see the runway, even though it seemed like it was never going to show up, even though it seemed like there wasn’t enough time for it to show up, he knew it was there.

QUESTION 1. Do you ever struggle with seeing how God is going to work through a particular situation in your life?
QUESTION 2. Are there any situations going on in your life right now that you need to place your faith in Jesus for?
CHALLENGE: Just as the ground was there when the plane landed…Jesus Christ will be there, guaranteed. We challenge you to create an “airplane faith” in your life. One where you may be certain of what you do not see.
