Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

There is a common misconception that if you believe in God then everything will work out and be okay. You’ll be the best looking, You won’t be bullied, You’ll get a boyfriend or girlfriend. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. God never promised that life would be easier; in fact, he said that it would be hard and that you’ll even be persecuted for your belief in him! What He did promise, though, is that He will be in control no matter what, and that He will always love you as His son or daughter.

In Matthew 10:29-31 Jesus tells us, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Your Father knows and cares about all the animals of the earth and yet you are worth so much more to Him. If you try to find your self-worth outside of God, you will most certainly never find it. But if you allow God to define your self-worth, you will realize that you are infinitely loved, infinitely cared for, and infinitely beautiful in the eyes of your Father.

QUESTION 1. Where do you get your worth from? The flawed opinions of others or from your Father who loves you more than you can ever understand?
QUESTION 2. Do you find it hard to accept this amazing love from God? If so, talk with Him about it. He wants to hear your heart.
CHALLENGE: Don’t let society or people define your worth and beauty. You are worth so much more than that. Pray that God will allow you to see yourself through his eyes. You will be amazed at how beautiful, worthy and loved you really are.
