Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Waiting is a part of every person’s daily life: waiting in line to buy groceries, waiting in your car during rush-hour traffic, waiting for that job interview to happen, or just waiting around for something to do. In fact, it almost seems as if we spend most of our days, just waiting!

For many of us, waiting is a very difficult thing to do, especially when we are called to wait on the Lord. We want our answers immediately; for example, am I going to get this new promotion at work, am I going to find that special someone that I love and can spend the rest of my life with, am I going to get into the College I want to get into, and the list can go on and on. Often times waiting frustrates us, but God calls us to wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart. God will answer your prayers, but in his way and his timing. Know that the God you worship and follow is a God of unlimited power and love. If you wait on Him and trust Him, He will be faithful to you and give you all that you need to follow Him.

QUESTION 1. What five things do you find yourself waiting around for most in life?
QUESTION 2. Is there something you’re waiting to hear from God about? (Explain)
CHALLENGE: God has a vision for your life, a vision for you to be able to trust him, love him and know that he will take care of all of your needs (Matthew 6:31-33). We challenge you to wait on the Lord, be strong, and know that God loves you (Psalm 27:14).

Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but happy is he that keeps the law.”

Jesus was once asked which of God’s commandments was the greatest. Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40).

God has a vision for your life, and it is a vision of love! It is a vision that has you fully integrated into what He wants you to do. God calls everyone to love, and with no exceptions. If you choose to step out in faith, love and seek God first, God will show himself to you and he will illuminate your path and give you a clear vision. Listen to God’s nudges upon your life. Don’t harden your heart and go to Him now; He’s calling you.

QUESTION 1. Have you ever understood God’s call upon your life as simply loving him and loving your neighbor? How have you shown your love to God and your neighbors lately (explain)?
QUESTION 2. In what ways can you make a real effort to love God and your neighbor (e.g. serving others through random acts of kindness, getting involved in your church, reading your Bible regularly, praying, etc.)? Make a list of things you can do and follow through with them.
CHALLENGE: We challenge you to step out in your faith today. Don’t wait, and dive into the Scriptures. Spend quality time with God in prayer. Love the one and only God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbors as yourself!
