Romans 10:14-15

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

One Christmas, my family received the most incredible news. My sister and brother-in-law announced that they were expecting a baby! Now, I had been wanting a niece or nephew for quite some time, so I was beyond excited. This was great news! Throughout the months that followed, I would look at my sister with so much excitement and joy in my heart. She seemed more beautiful to me since she’d told us the news. I know it sounds silly, but good news has a way of changing everything. This news, though, is nowhere near as good as the news we are called to spread to the world.

Each and every one of us has access to the best news there will ever be. We have heard the good news of Jesus’ transforming victory through his life, death, and resurrection. We get to share in that victory! Nothing is going to stop God from loving us! This news has the power to change everything. Far too often we shy away from sharing this Gospel, or good news, of Jesus Christ with others because of fear of how others will respond. However, if we truly believe that this news can change lives, then we have nothing to fear. When people are changed by the love of Christ, they will view you, the bearer of that love, with gratitude and excitement.

Let the goodness of God’s transforming love lead you to share that love with everyone around you. How will they hear the good news if you aren’t the one to share it?
