FEAR

CHARLY HERNANDEZ

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Is there anything in life that you fear? There are many fears that people around the world live with every day, and how people deal with these fears can bring either positive or negative results. On the one hand, fear can actually do great damage; for example, take a skier who is afraid of falling, once the fear of falling enters into his mind he becomes so consumed with falling that his fear actually causes him to fall. On the other hand, fear can be a great thing; for example, if you find yourself in a shady part of town where it is very common for pickpockets to rob people, your fear of being robbed may actually cause you to take the necessary precautions to keep you from getting your purse or wallet stolen.

God wants us to use wisdom when confronting our fears. Instead of allowing our fears to rule us, He wants us to take our fears to Him. If we turn our fears over to God, then he promises to give us the strength and help we need to overcome them. Besides, how can we be afraid of what mere man can do to us; our hope is not in man but rather in God, the Creator of the Universe, and the Greatest Conceivable Being (Psalm 56:11)! Know this day that God will uphold you with his righteous right hand and he will give you the strength to stand firm in your faith!
