1 Corinthians 1:27
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong.

Have you ever felt that you weren’t good enough, athletic enough, smart enough or talented enough? Well, we have good news for you, you’re not alone! God more often than not uses the small and weaker things of this world to shame the wise and arrogant. We must always remember that it’s God who deserves the glory and it’s God who deserves the praise, not us. If you are feeling like you just aren’t good enough to do something for God and for others, maybe you have been too focused on you and not focused enough on God. That is, if God is calling you to do something for his glory, then you don’t have to worry about being good enough, smart enough or talented enough to do it. As the Apostle Paul says, “if God is for you, who can be against you” (Romans 8:31). If you don’t believe us, just look at the story of Moses (in Exodus), the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17), Jesus’ disciples (in the Gospels), the life of the Apostle Paul (in Acts), and the list can go on and on. God will give you the strength you need to accomplish any mission he wants you to accomplish. Just be strong, stay focused, and trust in the Lord, and he will provide all you will need to fulfill his mission.

QUESTION 1. Have you ever felt that you weren’t good enough, athletic enough, smart enough or talented enough? Explain.
QUESTION 2. Have you been looking for ways to serve God, but have been too afraid to do it because of your insecurities?
CHALLENGE: God will place you in places that he can use you. We challenge you to keep your senses open to what God wants to do through you. And, when He calls upon you, don’t hold back, but watch how God will move mountains through you.
