Freedom

John 8:31-32

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Our world is steeped in lies like a tea bag in hot water, saturating every bit of it. We are told from the earliest age that if we don’t look like models we’ll never succeed or be beautiful. We are told that we’ll never be good enough for anything. Most of what we watch, read in magazines, and listen to pumps the soul-crushing death of lies into us without our ever realizing it. We believe these lies every single day. But these lies keep us from living the full life that God has for us. Instead, we live under the weight of the enemy. When we believe the enemy’s lies, he wins.

But, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Accept that truth, embrace it and bask in it. You are chosen. You are loved and God adores you to no end. Just think about that, the creator of everything and everyone loves and cherishes you more than you could ever imagine. We must become a people whose lives aren’t ruled by lies and realize that Jesus always wins. He came to give us life and set us free forever. It’s your choice, do you want to continue under the bondage of lies or do you want to accept the truth and be set free?

QUESTION 1. What lies have you believed? The list might be extensive so jot some down.
QUESTION 2. How often do you spend time with Jesus? The more time you spend with Him the harder it’ll be for lies to break in.
CHALLENGE: Next time you start to believe a lie, speak truth over yourself. Ask that God would pour his love on you and then banish that lie back to where it came from. Be free.
