Galatians 5:1

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

We have been set free. Let that truth wash over you and sink in. All of our sins, past, present, and future, were paid for when Jesus died on the cross for us. That doesn’t mean the struggle goes away, though. Some people think that when you become a Christian everything will be sunshine and daises, but this isn’t true. Many times the allure of sin becomes even stronger after becoming a Christian, because the enemy of our souls desires to draw us away from the one who brings freedom.

Temptation can become so strong sometimes that there seems like there is no way of battling it or ever winning. But Jesus has already won and we have been set free. Speak that over yourself and bask in that freedom. Maybe you’re stuck in a certain sin area and you have no idea how to break out of it. Here’s the thing though; you can’t. But Jesus can and has. If you truly desire to be free of your sin struggle then ask for forgiveness and give it to God. Don’t believe the lie for a second that you’re too far gone or that your sin has marred you too much to ever approach God again. You are never too far gone for Jesus, so stand firm and accept the freedom that only Jesus can offer.

QUESTION 1. Do you have a sin struggle that seems unbreakable?
QUESTION 2. How have you tried combating it in the past?
CHALLENGE: Take on your sin struggle. Start with prayer and then put physical strategies in place to keep that struggle at bay. Remember, Jesus has already set you free, now, you just need to walk in this new freedom.
