Psalm 23:1-3
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.

Have you ever thought that your plan for your life was the best and only option? It could have been a new job you pursued, a relationship you knew you shouldn’t have been getting into, that prestigious college into which you desperately wanted to get accepted, and if you didn’t, it would have been the end of the world. It could have been anything, and we have all done it. But how often do we actually stop and listen for God’s plan for our lives? We think we can plan it all, but how much better can the Creator and Sustainer of the universe guide you? Think about it, He’s the one who made you in the first place. He is the grand architect.

We need to stop trying to live our lives without instructions and surrender our lives and plans to God. He never said His plan would be the easiest for us or the most fun, but He did say in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has plans to prosper us, not to harm us, and plans to give us hope and a future. Doesn’t this sound so much better than our fault-filled plans? When you live in God’s plan there will be adventure, joy, and peace like you have never experienced before (Psalm 23:1-3). His plan is perfect; ours is not.

QUESTION 1. What plans do you have in place for your life right now? Write them down.
QUESTION 2. Have you surrendered your plans to God? Are you scared of what God might call you to do if you actually give all your plans to Him?
CHALLENGE: Take the list of your plans and surrender each one completely to God, and then pray that He would reveal His perfect plan to you.
