John 4:13-14

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

When I was in college I went crazy. I would drink and party 3 or 4 times a week, and sleep around. I thought that doing these things would fulfill me; and they honestly did for a very short time. But living that lifestyle of sin eventually left me feeling empty, depressed, and hopeless. I was drinking from a broken world and it left me so thirsty.

I thought that what I was doing would only affect me; sin feels private and personal most days, doesn’t it? But your sin branches into every area of your life. It darkens it all, and even affects those around you. But Jesus offers us something beautiful. He offers us living water that will make us never thirsty again.

Not only that, but when we drink from the living water, Jesus tells us that we will overflow into others. We need to identify what it is that we are drinking from in this world. Is it killing you slowly or giving you fresh life? If what you’re doing isn’t allowing you to overflow grace, truth, and love into your own life and others then destroy that area of your life and turn to Jesus, the one who provides living water.

QUESTION 1. Are you drinking from a broken world? Do you think your sin only affects you?
QUESTION 2. What are some areas in your life that may need to be broken? What is leaving you feeling empty and hopeless?
CHALLENGE: Identify what it is that is killing your soul, eradicate it, and then drink deeply from the living, fresh water of Jesus. Water filled with grace, truth, and love.
