jake 1

HOLY SPIRIT

JAKE HOLLMAN

Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” Which means God with us.

Have you ever thought about how an all-loving and all-powerful God could allow his people to experience hardship, tragedy or pain? For that matter, what about being in the presence of someone else who is going through severe pain, tragedy or discomfort? Did you pray for healing, but to no avail? Maybe you thought there must have been some kind of mistake and you demanded to know what God was thinking and doing? Did you think, just maybe that God was on vacation, or that He just forgot about you?

Matthew 1:23 says “the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” Which means God with us.

Here’s the deal, we may not know all the answers as to the whys and hows that something happened, but what we do know and what we can rely upon is that God is with us. He is with us, and when we grieve, he grieves. When we are in pain, he is in pain! God loves us more than we can ever know (John 3:16) and he has promised that he will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

QUESTION 1. Has there been any hardship that you had to endure that made you wonder what God might have been thinking? Explain.
QUESTION 2. Looking at your hardship from question 1, could you honestly say that you have turned that hardship over to God, or do you still hold resentment?
CHALLENGE: God loves you more than you can ever understand, and while we may never know all the answers as to why one person is healed and another is not, one thing is certain; God is with us through it all. Better yet, He is ready to make good come out of a bad situation for all those who believe and turn their hardship over to Him (Romans 8:28). So, what are you waiting for? We challenge you to be free and turn your tragedy over to God today!
