Psalm 139:13-14

For you formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well.

Have you ever felt like you didn’t fit in? We’ve all had a point—or a hundred—where we felt completely out of our element, awkward, or even worthless. I remember when I was in high school I used to wonder if I would ever fit in anywhere. I wasn’t the most popular person in school, nor the sportiest. I was what high-schoolers would call average. But God destroyed those lies when I first heard the verse above. I have never felt worthless since.

Think about it; the all-mighty God of all creation, everything that lives, everything in the cosmos, the grand architect, is the one that formed you to be exactly who you are. And you know what he calls you? Perfect. Wonderful. While some of us may think that God made a mistake, the verse in Psalms confirms that God certainly does not make mistakes. He made you to look the way you do, to act the way you do, to be who you are, and he calls you perfect.

So stop believing the lies of the enemy and the world who say you aren’t good enough or pretty enough. Then bask in the peace and comfort of knowing that the Creator of all made you to be specifically you; fearfully and wonderfully made.

QUESTION 1. Do you ever feel like you don’t fit in or that God made a mistake with a certain aspect of you?
QUESTION 2. Are you buying into the lies of the world and shoving God’s perfect design of you to the side?
CHALLENGE: Whatever you used to believe about yourself, destroy it. Remember that you are the way you are for a purpose and that you are infinitely beautiful because you are created by God.
