1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

Have you ever done something you knew was wrong in life, simply because you felt pressure from your friends? This can appear in many forms, such as, underage drinking, drug use, premarital sex, lying, theft, and the list can go on and on. 1 Cor. 6:19-20 reminds us that we don’t have to do these crazy things to impress or fit in with our friends. If we have a relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ we belong to God. We were bought with a price! God loves you for you and you don’t have to do any crazy things to make him love you any more or less than he already does.

QUESTION 1. What have you done to impress your friends that you knew in the end would not be pleasing to God?
QUESTION 2. Before you give an answer to this question, really think about where your heart is with God. Who do you care to impress more, your friends or God? (Think of some specific situations)
CHALLENGE: Put your energy towards loving God first and worrying less about what your friends think and more about what God thinks about you. God loves you for you! He made you special and we challenge you to treat Him like He’s special, too.
