Psalm 27:10

Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

This may seem shocking to some, but there are lots of people in this world who have never heard the words, “I love you.” Maybe for some you’ve heard those words but there is no weight behind them and you wonder, “Why am I not worth it? Does anyone even care?” To feel unloved and unwanted is crippling. It makes it hard to even get out of bed some days let alone do anything.

But here’s the thing, people will disappoint in this life and they can knock you down, but God picks you back up. Your parents may forsake you, but God adopts you and takes you in. Nobody is perfect, but God is and he is your heavenly father who loves you no matter what’s in your past, present, or future. He will always love you and always be there. The problem is that we carry our wounds from earthly relationships into our relationship with God and we think that because those persons don’t love us God couldn’t either. But those are lies that the enemy wants us to believe, lies that will keep us from being effective. You are the beloved son or daughter of the creator; what a beautiful thought that is.

QUESTION 1. Do you ever feel unloved or not worth it?
QUESTION 2. Do you believe that God thinks you are completely worth it—so worth it that he sent his son to die for you?
CHALLENGE: Build that personal relationship with your heavenly Father. You are good enough for him; he is the perfect father who will never leave you or forsake you.
