Philippians 1:6

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Life sucks sometimes. There are days when you can barely get out of bed for fear of facing what the day is bringing, or days when you can’t even fathom taking another step. Maybe you’re working in a job where no one appreciates you and the boss puts you down all of the time, but you know you’re supposed to be there as a light for Jesus. Maybe you’re in some type of ministry and you’re worn out and aren’t seeing any results, and you’re just over it. Well, you know what? That’s okay, because it’s when you reach that point when you feel like you can’t go any further that God can step in and say, “Here, let me take that burden from you.”

Wherever it is that you’ve been called to, know that God has you there for a reason. Yes, it may get hard, discouraging, or downright awful, but find peace in the fact that God has begun a good work in you, and he will most certainly see it through to completion. All you have to do is keep walking forward; persevere. Trust that God is in control and that he loves you more than you could ever even begin to understand.

QUESTION 1. What is in your life right now that is discouraging you or making it hard to keep going?
QUESTION 2. What hardships have you encountered in the past that you actually entrusted to God and then ultimately overcame? Did He come through for you?
CHALLENGE: Trust that God will finish what he said he would finish and completely rely on him.
