Matthew 6:33-34

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Fear and worry can come so naturally to us as humans. We like to be in the know of everything that is going on. We like to be in control of every situation. When we aren’t, we stress and panic. God desires more for us. He wants to teach us how to rest in the face of the unknown because He knows every step of the process and the outcome of every situation. The more we seek Him, the more we are able to find rest and peace.

When Jesus tells us to seek Him first, He isn’t saying that for His own personal gain. He tells us to seek Him because He knows what is best for us. He knows you have enough on your plate already and He wants to carry your burdens with you. He wants to offer you what the world and our fear cannot – peace.

You’ve got enough to handle today. Let God handle your future, the unknown, and your worries. Free up your heart and mind to focus on what God has in store for you today. Seek Him every step of the way and He will provide all you need.
