Matthew 6:34

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Worry. That word alone can cause us to break out in a clammy sweat. Think about how often you worry in any given day. In fact, take today and start writing down every time you get worried. You may fill a few pages. It’s human of us to worry because we have no control over the very things we worry about. But that’s the beautiful thing: we have no control. Know who does? God.

Here’s the thing; we spend so many of our todays worrying about tomorrows that we end up losing our today. As morbid as it sounds, what if tomorrow never comes for you? Would you want to spend your last day thinking about a tomorrow that will never even happen? God has given you this day for a reason, and what a beautiful day it is. If I may quote Master Oogway from the movie Kung Fu Panda, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”

QUESTION 1. What are you worrying about today? Is it doing you any good? Has it ever done you any good?
QUESTION 2. How often do you give your stress and worry over to God? What happens when you do?
CHALLENGE: Stop stressing about tomorrow, God has your tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that…Enjoy the incredible gift that is the present.
