TRUST

MICK SILVERS

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.

As part of a leadership training exercise in college, a group of us were blindfolded and taken to an unknown location. We were guided all around campus then placed into vehicles and whisked away while required to keep our blindfolds on. I felt so out of control in that moment that I even got into the car backwards on accident. I had no idea where I was going, who was driving me, or what was going on in the world around me. What I did know was that the people leading the leadership exercise were trustworthy. I could choose to freak out because I was not in control, or I could sit and relax because I knew I was in the hands of people I could trust. I sat and thought about all the places they could have been taking us. When we took off our blindfolds we were rewarded with delicious donuts!

How often in your life as you walk with God do you feel like you are completely out of control? So often the Lord shows us that his plans are way different than anything we may have expected them to be. God sees the bigger picture and he knows where he is taking you on this journey of life. Even when you cannot see where you are going, you are in trustworthy hands. You may not be able to figure everything out, but God provides a peace that goes beyond all understanding when you trust him fully. The more you allow Him to guide you, the more you will see His plans unfold in your life.

He wants to give you His best! He wants to take you where you have never expected to go and He wants to pour out His goodness in your life. You may not be able to see where He is taking you, but as you walk in faith you will see that the outcome is far better than donuts.
