Have you ever gotten upset with someone? I mean really upset, so upset that you took out your anger in a way that hurt that person though your words or physical actions. Ephesians 6 tells us that our battle and “fight is not against flesh and blood, but rather against the mighty powers in this dark world, and against the evil spirits in the heavenly places.” When we don’t view people as our enemies but rather realize the enemy is not actually of flesh and blood, God will always be able to show you how to combat the situation with love and navigate through even the toughest situations.

QUESTION 1. Think about a time when you hurt someone with your words or physical actions. Given that situation how could you have reacted differently and showed love to that person?
QUESTION 2. Think about a time when you were shown undeserved love. How did that affect you and your mindset towards that person?
CHALLENGE: We challenge you to rethink who you’re really angry with. As the apostle Paul proclaims, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but with an unseen dark and demonic world. God calls us to wage war against the people who are our enemies by unconditionally loving them, but at the end of the day, the choice is yours! Will you trust God and allow his love to unconditionally transform all those around you? Follow Jesus’ example of love today and go beyond the norm to a new and extraordinary life of love; a love that includes your enemies! (Matthew 5:44)
