Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Have you ever gone though a period of time that you just didn’t feel God’s presence in your life? Maybe you even wondered if God even existed at all. Many of us go through what people have coined the dry or dark periods of our lives. They’re times when we are lonely or just don’t feel God’s presence in our lives. But know this, there will never, ever be a time, situation or moment that you are alone. Why? Because God is with you always, even when life gets difficult, when you’re in pain, and especially when you feel most alone. Just because you don’t feel God, doesn’t mean he isn’t there. In fact, sometimes when we can’t feel God, it might just be because he’s trying to teach us something.

QUESTION 1. Think of a time when you felt God’s presence most active in your life? Think of a time when you felt alone and couldn’t really feel God’s presence?
QUESTION 2. What did you learn from God in each of the experiences referenced in question 1? What lesson can you pull from these experiences?
CHALLENGE: It can be hard to understand how one minute we feel such an overwhelming presence of God in our lives and then the very next week, month or year we are left wondering where God went. But here’s the kicker, God never went anywhere, he was and is always with you, and he promises that he will never leave you nor forsake you. God loves you and never forget it! So as the Bible says, be strong and live courageously!
